The comparison
What Sell Any Mobile is and how comparison works
Start here if you want to understand our role, why comparison helps and what happens after you choose an offer.No. Sell Any Mobile never takes ownership of your device, inspects it, receives it or pays you for it. If you choose an offer, you deal directly with the recycler that made that offer under its own terms and process.
Search for the exact device you want to sell, choose the relevant condition and network where those details apply, then review the live offers available for that selection. You choose whether to continue and which recycler to visit. The recycler then handles postage, inspection, any revised offer and payment directly with you.
See the complete processDifferent recyclers can quote different prices for the same device and can also differ in payment methods, postage arrangements and service terms. Comparing first gives you a wider view of the current market. The highest displayed price is not automatically the right choice for everyone, so read the recycler's terms and consider its reputation as well.
You leave Sell Any Mobile and continue with the chosen recycler. Any order, postage instructions, device inspection, final price, payment and customer service are provided by that independent business. Sell Any Mobile does not process the transaction or hold your money.
The recyclers
Independent recyclers and how they appear
Every recycler runs its own business. These answers explain that boundary and what a listing does, and does not, mean. They are independent, separately registered UK businesses that buy or recycle devices. Each recycler controls its own prices, condition decisions, postage process, service standards, final offers and payments. Sell Any Mobile does not own or operate those businesses.
No. Listing a recycler or passing a visitor to its website does not create an agency, employment or ownership relationship. We provide the comparison channel, while the recycler remains responsible for every part of its own service and any agreement it makes with you.
No. A recycler's presence, price or position in the comparison is not a recommendation, guarantee or endorsement from Sell Any Mobile. You decide which business, if any, you are comfortable using after making your own checks.
They are useful signals, not promises about what will happen in an individual transaction. Check where a rating comes from, how recent the reviews are, how the recycler responds to problems and what its own terms say. Do not rely on one score alone.
Yes. We monitor concerns raised with us and can suspend or remove a recycler where a genuine pattern of complaints or other serious platform concern develops. That monitoring does not make us responsible for resolving an individual dispute, but it helps us protect the quality of the comparison channel.
Report a concernConditions and prices
Device condition and pricing accuracy
Displayed prices are a current comparison starting point. The recycler's inspection still determines its final offer.No. Prices are supplied by recyclers and may change as their live pricing changes. A displayed price also depends on the device details and condition selected, while the final offer is made by the recycler after it receives and inspects the device.
The recycler may identify a different model, storage capacity, network status or physical or functional condition from the information selected during comparison. Missing parts, account locks or faults can also affect its assessment. The recycler should explain any revised offer under its own terms and give you the choices its process provides.
They are broad, public-facing descriptions intended to help you start a like-for-like comparison. They cannot cover every mark, fault or recycler grading rule. Read the condition guidance carefully and then check the chosen recycler's own definitions before sending your device.
Read the condition guidanceAsk the recycler for the reason and any inspection evidence available, then use the acceptance or return options in its terms. The condition decision and any resulting price change are between you and that recycler. Sell Any Mobile cannot overrule an inspection or force the original displayed price to be paid.
The exact model is essential. Storage, network status, colour, connectivity, edition, included accessories and functional condition can also matter depending on the device type and recycler. Choose the complete product name shown in search rather than assuming two similar versions have the same value.
Before sending
Preparing your device before it leaves you
Back up what you need, remove personal access and make sure the recycler can inspect the device you send.Back up anything you want to keep, sign out of personal accounts, remove activation or device locks, remove passcodes, take out SIM and memory cards, then complete the correct factory reset or data wipe for that device. Check the manufacturer's current instructions if you are unsure, because the exact sequence differs by device and operating system.
Yes. Remove any physical SIM and removable memory card unless the recycler explicitly tells you otherwise. These can hold personal information and are normally not part of the device being valued. An eSIM should be removed through the device settings or with help from your network if needed.
Remove the account or activation lock linked to the device, such as Find My and Activation Lock for Apple devices or the relevant Google, Samsung, Microsoft, PlayStation or Nintendo account protection. Also remove screen passcodes and any work management profile you are authorised to remove. A recycler may be unable to test or reuse a locked device.
A correct reset is an important final step, but first make a backup, sign out of accounts and disable linked security features. Confirm that the device starts at its setup screen without showing your account or asking for your old passcode. Work, school, child or shared devices deserve an extra check for saved profiles, downloads and managed access.

Packing and posting a device safely
A clear record, secure packaging and suitable tracked delivery protect both the device and your position if something goes wrong.Use the recycler's stated process and choose a tracked service with an appropriate level of compensation and a signature or other delivery confirmation where available. Standard untracked post gives you very little evidence if the parcel is delayed or lost. Check exactly what the recycler's free-post option covers before relying on it.
Yes. Take clear, dated photographs of every side of the device, the screen, any existing damage, its identifying details where safe to do so, and the device inside the packaging before sealing it. Keep the original files as a condition and packing record.
Switch it off, protect exposed screens and controls, wrap it with proper cushioning such as bubble wrap, and use a strong outer box that prevents movement. Keep loose accessories from striking the device. Do not rely on a thin envelope for a valuable or fragile item unless the recycler has supplied packaging specifically designed for it.
It records when and how the parcel entered the delivery network and normally includes the tracking reference. Keep it with your photos, order reference and correspondence until the recycler has confirmed receipt and the transaction is fully complete.
No. Courier rules can restrict lithium batteries, damaged or swollen batteries, particular destinations and the packaging method used. Check the chosen courier's current prohibited and restricted items before sending. Never post a battery that appears swollen, leaking, punctured or dangerously hot without specialist advice.
Trust and checks
Choosing a recycler with proper due diligence
Comparison narrows the market. Your own checks decide whether a particular recycler is right for you.Sell Any Mobile is free to browse and does not take possession of your device or handle your payment. The important decision is which independent recycler you choose to deal with. Review that business carefully before sending anything and follow safe preparation, evidence and postage practices.
Read recent independent reviews, check the company's identity and current trading information, study its condition definitions, revised-offer and return terms, and confirm how postage and payment work. Save a copy or screenshot of the offer and terms you relied on.
No. We can review eligibility for the platform and monitor information and concerns available to us, but we do not supervise each recycler's daily operations, inspection decisions, finances, customer service or compliance. You should carry out your own reasonable checks before entering a direct transaction.
No. The directory covers the UK recycling industry past and present and can include businesses that have closed or no longer accept devices. Check the profile's operating and platform-listing status, note when it was last checked, and independently verify current trading information before contacting or sending a device to any company.

Payments, revised offers and concerns
The recycler owns the transaction and must handle its resolution. We still want to hear about patterns that may affect the platform.Contact the recycler directly using its formal support or complaints route, quote your order and tracking details, and keep a written record. Check the payment timetable in the terms you accepted. Sell Any Mobile cannot release the payment or compel the recycler to pay, because we do not hold the funds or control its business.
Ask for a clear explanation and inspection evidence, then follow the recycler's acceptance, rejection and return process within any stated deadline. Keep copies of the original comparison, your pre-posting photographs and all messages. Any price dispute must be resolved with the recycler directly.
No. We cannot force a payment, reverse a condition decision, arrange a return or represent either side. The sale is between you and the recycler. Depending on the issue, you may also consider independent consumer advice or another formal route available to you.
A report helps us identify repeated behaviour across separate transactions. We review credible patterns and may seek information, suspend a live listing or remove a recycler from the platform. Reporting to us does not replace the recycler's own complaint process and does not mean we can obtain an individual remedy for you.

Practical questions before your first comparison
The essentials about cost, accounts, devices, prices and the ways Sell Any Mobile is funded.Yes. Consumers do not pay to search, compare recycler offers or follow a recycler link from Sell Any Mobile.
No. You can search for a device and compare available offers without creating a Sell Any Mobile account. A recycler may ask for information when you continue to its own service, and that collection is governed by the recycler's terms and privacy information.
Mobile phones and tablets lead Sell Any Mobile's five categories, with smartwatches, game consoles and laptops also covered. A device needs a published product page before it can appear in search or comparison.
A browsing card may not yet identify the condition, network or exact offer context needed for a fair price. Live pricing appears on the individual product page after you choose the exact device. This avoids showing a misleading browsing price or a false zero value.
Yes. The standard comparison works best for one exact device at a time. For a mixed collection, business equipment or bulk stock, use the relevant enquiry route so the information can be considered as one request.
See more ways to sellA recycler can owe Sell Any Mobile a flat £5 fee when it successfully receives a device referred through the platform. We do not charge consumers, and the fee is not a payment for a click, lead, endorsement or preferential position in comparison results.
